Snap ASIN: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026 · Version 1.2 · covers the Snap ASIN extension (version 5.0.0 and later) and the Snap ASIN website

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for Snap ASIN is João Luís Marques Jorge, NIF 232110638, Ribeira da Folga – CX Postal 556, Pardieiro, 8550-152 Marmelete, Monchique, Portugal. Contact: snapasinpro@gmail.com. We haven't appointed a Data Protection Officer, because we aren't required to.

This policy covers two separate things: the Snap ASIN extension (sections 2 to 4) and our website (section 4A). Sections 5 onwards apply to both.

Licences are sold through our payment provider and reseller, Lemon Squeezy (the "Reseller"), which acts as merchant of record. The Reseller collects and processes your checkout, payment, tax and licence data as an independent controller, under its own privacy notice (linked on its checkout page).

2. Summary

3. What the extension stores in your browser (we don't receive it)

All of the following is stored only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), plus one small display preference in the local storage of the Amazon page you're using: - Your work (Lite and Pro): your collected ASINs (plus at most the product title and URL), settings, excluded keywords, variant-mismatch list, and any "already known" ASIN file you import. While Snap ASIN reads a page you open (including results pages that multi-page collection opens in your tab at your request), it also processes titles, prices and variant labels to apply your filters, but doesn't keep them. - Free trial: only the date your trial started, so that the trial can end after 7 days. During the trial, Snap ASIN reads the page you're viewing (including prices, to apply the max-price filter) and puts that page's ASINs on your clipboard only. It doesn't save them, and the list clears when you open a new page or reload the page. What you then do with the clipboard contents is up to you. - Your saved lists are always yours: all saved lists (your ASINs, excluded keywords, the "already known" ASIN skip list, the do-not-list ASIN list, and lists migrated from Snap ASIN 4.x) stay in your browser and remain viewable and exportable as CSV in every state: during the trial, after it ends, after a refund or deactivation, and if a licence ever lapses. Creating and adding to lists needs Lite or Pro. - Multi-page collection (Lite and Pro): usage counters for the session and daily limits, and the date and version of the notice you accepted. - Withdrawal consent log: when you tick the consent box in the Upgrade screen, the time, the version of the text you agreed to, the language and the tier (Lite or Pro). - Licence: your licence key, the instance ID returned at activation, the licence status, the tier (Lite or Pro) and the activation date.

What the extension never sends to anyone: ASINs, keywords, Amazon URLs, page contents, browsing data or usage statistics.

4. What is sent, to whom, and why

When What is sent To whom Purpose Lawful basis (GDPR art. 6)
Free trial Nothing. ASINs go only to your clipboard, on your own device – – –
Purchase (Lite €19, Pro €49, or the €30 Lite-to-Pro upgrade) You enter your name, email, billing address, payment details and any VAT number on the Reseller's checkout page. The extension adds three non-personal values: the consent text version, the consent time and the language. These are stored in the Reseller's order record The Reseller (independent controller) To process your purchase, calculate tax, issue your receipt and licence key, and keep proof of your withdrawal consent Contract (6(1)(b)); legal obligation for tax (6(1)(c))
Activation Your licence key and a fixed instance name. The Reseller also sees your IP address, as with any internet connection. The Reseller's response includes your name and email; the extension discards them and keeps only the instance ID, licence status, tier and activation date (section 3) The Reseller (api.lemonsqueezy.com) To unlock the features you bought and limit the number of activations Contract (6(1)(b))
Validation, at most once every 7 days while you're online Your licence key and instance ID (and your IP address, as above) The Reseller To confirm that the licence is still valid. If validation fails, paid features keep working for a 30-day grace period Contract (6(1)(b)); legitimate interest in preventing licence abuse (6(1)(f))
Deactivation, when you remove the licence from the extension Your licence key and instance ID (and your IP address) The Reseller To free the activation, so you can use it elsewhere Contract (6(1)(b))
Support, refund and withdrawal requests Whatever you send us (for example, your email and order number) Us, through our email service provider and our website's withdrawal form To answer you and handle complaints, refunds and withdrawals Contract (6(1)(b)); legal obligation (6(1)(c)); legitimate interest (6(1)(f))
Visiting our website Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages), our processor (section 4A) Delivering and securing the website Legitimate interest (6(1)(f))

What we (the seller) can see. Through the Reseller's dashboard, we can see your order record: name, email, country, product, price, tax, refund status, licence key and activation count, plus the consent metadata (text version, time and language). We use it only for support, refunds, withdrawal requests, preventing licence abuse and meeting our legal obligations. We don't use it for marketing unless you have opted in.

4A. Our website (hosting)

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, run by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which acts as our processor. - What Cloudflare processes. To deliver the pages and protect the site against attacks and abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and standard request details (time, page requested, browser type and referring page). We don't export or store these logs ourselves. - Legal basis. Our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). - Transfers. Cloudflare may process this data in the United States and elsewhere in its global network. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK Extension). We don't use analytics or tracking cookies on the website. [REMOVE UNLESS JOAO TURNS ON CLOUDFLARE WEB ANALYTICS: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't fingerprint visitors.] If Cloudflare's bot protection is enabled, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies: __cf_bm, which expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, and cf_clearance, after you pass a challenge. 5. Who we share data with

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data.

6. International transfers

The Reseller and some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on an adequacy decision (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified) or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details. In particular: - Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK Extension). Its data processing agreement also includes Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long data is kept

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data; to restrict or object to processing (including direct marketing, at any time); to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. Email snapasinpro@gmail.com and we'll reply within one month. For checkout, payment and licence-server data, you can also contact the Reseller directly. Data stored only in your browser is under your control: you can export your saved lists as CSV in every state (with or without a licence) or delete them at any time. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect processing that took place before you withdrew it. Exercising your rights is free of charge.

9. Your right to complain

If you think we've handled your data unlawfully, you have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), https://www.cnpd.pt, Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisboa. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work or where the problem happened, or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), https://ico.org.uk. This applies to both the extension and the website. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first, so please email us at snapasinpro@gmail.com, but you don't have to.

10. Cookies and local storage

The extension doesn't set cookies or use tracking technologies. Its local storage (section 3) is strictly necessary to provide the service you've asked for, so it doesn't need your consent (Lei 41/2004, art. 5). Licence checks don't use cookies.

Our website uses no analytics or tracking cookies. The only cookies it may set are Cloudflare's strictly necessary security cookies, if its bot protection is enabled (section 4A), and these don't need your consent. If we ever add analytics cookies or any other non-essential cookies, we'll ask for your consent first, with a cookie banner, before setting them.

11. Children

Snap ASIN is a business productivity tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.

12. Security

The extension's code is bundled with the extension (there's no remote code). Licence requests go to the Reseller over encrypted HTTPS. We protect our accounts with two-step verification.

13. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy: Limited Use statement

Snap ASIN's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. - We use the data Snap ASIN accesses (website content on supported Amazon pages, processed locally, and the licence data needed for your licence) only to provide Snap ASIN's single purpose: copying, organising and exporting ASINs from Amazon pages you open. - The only data transferred off your device is licence data sent to the Reseller, which is needed for that purpose. - We never use or transfer data for personalised advertising, never sell it to data brokers, and never use it to assess creditworthiness or for lending. - No human reads your data unless you give permission (for example, in a support request), it's needed for security, it's required by law, or it has been aggregated and anonymised.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how Snap ASIN handles data (for example, by adding a feature that sends data off your computer), we'll update this policy, show a clear notice inside the extension before the change applies, and ask for your consent where required. If we change how the website handles data, we'll update this page and change the version and date at the top.
